Fountain Pen Network – Philippines, a local collective of fountain pen enthusiasts, is holding a holiday auction of 20 pens for the benefit of Save The Children’s Typhoon Odette relief campaign.
Also known as Rai, Odette hit at least five regions south of the main island of Luzon. Survivors had to spend Christmas away from home with no electricity as they face scarcity of food and drinking water.

Each pen has been donated by group members, with bidding starting for as low as Php1000. Options up for grabs include a Platinum 3776 Century Bourgogne in 14k ultra extra-fine nib, a Montegrappa Nero Uno in 18k medium nib (photo above), and a Parker Duofold International Black in 18k F nib
To join the community’s auction, one must be a member of their Facebook Group, pending the approval of administrators. Interested can bid for pens until December 28 for the first batch and December 29 for the second batch.
This is not the first time that the local fountain pen community has gathered for a cause. The group made its first fundraiser in 2019 for long-time member Clem Dionglay. It also raised funds for the late-Doc. Karen Senen and other medical-related situations, while some organized a raffle for those hit by Typhoon Ulysses. Save The Children has also been a frequent beneficiary of FPN-P’s events.
